Published in the June 2024 print and online edition, my story “Una fiesta chula” explores the resilience and pride of the muxe people in Juchitán, Oaxaca, a queer community celebrated within Zapotec culture.

Through immersive reporting and first-hand experience at their annual vela (festival), I captured the intersection of identity, faith, and celebration in one of Mexico’s most unique expressions of gender and tradition.

As a Mexican creative based in New York, I write about where heritage meets modern culture and travel, highlighting stories of diversity and belonging across Latin America.
